(We will return to school on 12/2/24)

Picture Retakes 12/3

Thank You Bush Community

I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for the warm welcome, acceptance, support, and generosity you have shown me. We truly have a unique and wonderful school, and I am incredibly proud to represent this community.

It is an honor to continue serving such a caring community. We have so much to celebrate and be thankful for at Bush. Thank you for stepping up when called upon and for welcoming me into the Bush family. Your trust in me to lead our school means the world.

I want to acknowledge the hard work of our teachers, who are dedicated to our students every day. I assure you that we are making progress every day and stepping in the right direction.

As we approach the upcoming break, I hope everyone takes the time to rest, relax, and recharge. Enjoy this special time with your children! I look forward to seeing all of you back safe and sound on December 2nd.

Thank you once again for being such an incredible community.

It’s a great day to have a day the Bobcat Way!

Fundraiser Success

I am thrilled to share that our Monster Dash fundraiser has been a tremendous success! The Dash last week was a blast, we’re still finalizing the numbers, but I know that we are right at our goal of $30,000!

As many of you know, we are not a Title 1 school, which means we do not receive Title 1 funds. Our operating budget is solely based on our enrollment. This makes it essential for us to come together as a community to improve our campus, update our technology, and provide the necessary resources for our classrooms. Whether it’s supplies, subscriptions, campus updates, or anything else we need, we truly must pull ourselves up by our bootstraps and find a way.

What we may lack in funding, we more than make up for with our strong community and dedicated PTO. Thank you to all of you for stepping up, donating, and supporting our students. This money is for them, and it will help us continue to make Bush an incredible place to learn and grow.

Together, we are making a difference!

Food Drive

The character trait of the month of November is gratitude and there is nothing more rewarding than to support our community and those who are in need, especially in this holiday season. Our food drive has so far been a massive success! Our food drive is in support of House of Amos, which is a non-profit organization. Tomorrow is the last day to donate!

This includes:

  • Canned vegetables – all varieties
  • Canned fruit – all varieties
  • Canned pasta with meat such as beef ravioli, spaghetti & meatballs
  • Canned meat such as tuna or chicken

All cans will be submitted to the student's homeroom teacher and the student council will be collecting and counting. The top 5 donating classes will receive a free dress day! This is a great opportunity for our students to learn more about the importance of service and giving back to the community.

Congratulations to our Bush artists who were featured at "Threads of Gold"

FROM THE NURSE

Important Reminder for Parents and Guardians

This is a friendly reminder to all parents and guardians: If your child is missing required vaccines, please ensure that their vaccination records are submitted to the school nurse no later than December 2, 2024.

Immunization notices have been sent home. Please check your child’s red folder or backpack to see if any vaccines are needed. If you’re unsure about your child’s vaccine status or need assistance, feel free to contact the school nurse for guidance at marangel.santos@houstonisd.org

We encourage you to take advantage of the Thanksgiving break to get any missing immunizations completed. To assist you, we’ve attached several flyers with contact information for organizations where you can inquire about their vaccine programs.

These records are crucial for maintaining a healthy and safe school environment for all students. If you have questions or need further assistance, feel free to contact the school nurse.

Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our school community healthy!
