Spectacular Spellers!

We would like to congratulate our Barbara Bush Elementary 2025 Spelling Bee Champion, Andy Z. and our second place winner, Hossain A. on their amazing performance today. It was a very close finish and both boys did exceptionally well. 

We would also like to congratulate all of our amazing class spelling bee winners who competed in the Bee today.  Congratulations to Janel G., Hossain A., Emmett B., Aarushi S., Veera V., Keane N., Matthew Y., Arwaa R, Hakesh T., Evangelia P., Davin A., Shruthika K., Andy Z, Ran I.,Yakshana S., and Arjun A.These spellers competed in 28 very competitive rounds and everyone did a great job.

Andy will go on to represent Bush Elementary  at the HISD Spelling Bee later this month and Hossain will be the alternate. Good Luck, we know you will make us proud! 

Alice In Wonderland

Congratulations to all our students who performed in the Alice in Wonderland production! You did an incredible job, and we are so proud of each one of you. The play was a tremendous success!

A special thank you to Ms. Miles for her hard work and dedication.

Bush Choir Reminder: Rehearsals are held every Tuesday after school. If you haven't yet submitted your T-shirt size to Mr. Antolini, please do so as soon as possible! 

UIL Competition

Students who are participating in the UIL competition on Saturday received detailed information via email from Ms. Windham concerning the event. Please check that email for details or reach out to Ms. Windham.

Arrival & Dismissal Reminders

School begins at 7:30 a.m. Students arriving after 7:40 a.m. are considered tardy. Students arriving after 9:00 a.m., without a doctor's excuse, will be marked absent.

Arrival: Only PreK, SPED, and Safety Patrol students are permitted to use the bus lane for drop-off. A big thank you to Ms. Calix for doing a wonderful job each morning!

Dismissal: Please ensure you are using the crosswalks and following the directions of our crossing guards. Safety first!

Let's work together to ensure a smooth and safe arrival and dismissal process for everyone. Thank you for your cooperation!

Hazel Health

New Virtual Physical and Mental Health Services with Hazel Health

HISD has launched a new virtual health services program with Hazel Health. With Hazel Health, HISD students can speak with a licensed therapist or a medical provider from home or at school. Hazel Health offers scheduled appointments with licensed therapists and on-demand access to medical providers. For more information, please visit the following pages. Whether you choose to participate or decline, we ask all parents to complete a selection on the online forms. Every response is valuable and helps us plan effectively for our school community. Jeremiah E. turned 7 years old on February 3rd and is a 1st grader in Ms. Upshaw's class. 

Cameron H. turned 7 years old on February 4th and is a 1st grader in Ms. Burgstiner's class.

Movie Night

Donation Drive

With your generous contributions, the PTO has been able to invest in the Nature Center, upgrade the PreK/Kinder playground, remodel the library, modernize the teachers' lounge, to name a few. 

Our donation drive continues to run until February 28th, our goal is to reach $10,000.
