  Dress Up Competition

Students and staff are encouraged to dress up like Mr. and Mrs. Bush, or wear yellow- one of Mrs. Bush's favorite colors.

  • Every student will receive a set of faux pearls on May 5
  • Classes will be judged on creativity, participation and accuracy by guest judges from the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation (BBHLF).
  • The winning grade level will be able to choose a book from the Curiosity Cruiser on May 29.

Mrs. Bush was known for her pearls.  Every student will receive a pair of fake pearls to wear.  She actually wore pearls to hide her neck wrinkles!  She was also known for wearing clothes that were down to earth and not overly expensive.

Mr.Bush was often seen in a suit with a red or blue tie.  In his leisure time he usually was wearing a baseball cap,  dress pants and a casual button down shirt.  He was known for wearing very colorful socks!

If you are unable to find a suitable outfit for May 5, please wear yellow along with the pearls that teachers will hand out that day.
